India is a stunning destination that every year welcomes millions of travelers. Tourism is also an essential element of the country’s economy as it accounts for about 6.4% of GDP. But it’s not always easy to prepare your trip to India. Therefore, before booking your plane ticket, we should concentrate on the climatic specificities of the area as well as the various medical and administrative formalities to be addressed.
WHEN TO GO TO INDIA?
The winter, which stretches from November to March, is generally the best time to travel to India. Nevertheless, the territory’s vastness means major climatic variations between the different regions.
If you want to visit Rajasthan and the country’s entire west, then the most indicated departure is between June and March. This area with a desert climate has what to deter the most experienced explorers, the aridity that reigns the rest of the year.
As for the south, between January and March, the climate is most favorable. It’s the country’s warmest and westest region, so it’s strongly advised not to go there between October and December, the rains may be torrential.
During the dry season, between September and
March, a trip to Delhi and the plains of central India can ensure a milder
climate than during the rest of the year when temperatures can change climb up
to 45 °.
Finally, a departure between the month of May and the month of September will be the most pleasant for those wishing to discover the northern mountains, temperatures can freeze the rest of the time.
MEDICAL PRECAUTIONS AND OBTAINING A VISA:
There is no compulsory vaccine for a trip to India. However, some are highly recommended:
- Hepatitis A and B
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella).
Therefore, if the stay is longer than 3 weeks, it is highly recommended to take malaria medication and be vaccinated against rabies. (Remember to protect yourself from mosquitoes, they spread malaria)
As far as visas are concerned, apart from Nepalese or Bhutanese nationals, it is mandatory for any trip to India. Therefore, the Indian embassy has entrusted VFSGLOBAL with the management of visas, which has several centers in France and works closely with Action Visa. Several sites allow you to easily obtain your Indian Visa where in a few minutes you can obtain an e-visa. At Magadao, we recommend you to apply directly to the official website of the Indian government for a VISA: the process will be less costly and quicker. Your application for a visa will be sent to you within 2 days and will remain valid for 1 year (compared to 2/3 months by a third party organization).
To do this, you will only need your passport and a photo ID.
